Cross-Sector Synergy Expected to Present New Commodities for Cheap Groceries in Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, inspected the cheap basic food activities at the Mampang Prapatan Urban Village Office, South Jakarta, Wednesday (1/24).

Hopefully, it can inspire other private sectors

This location is the fourth point where cheap basic food supplies provided by the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency (DKPKP) together with PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and private sector.

On that occasion, he appreciated all parties involved, especially the private sector, namely Maha Karunia Sai Foundation and Trans 7 which had just joined to make the cheap basic food program a success.

Residents Feel Benefits of Cheap Basic Food Sales Program in Jakarta

"The Jakarta Government invites to make partnerships with various parties in holding cheap basic food activities. For those who have joined, we express our appreciation and thanks. Hopefully, it can inspire other private sectors," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

The involvement of the private sector was hoped by the Acting Governor to increase the variety of products sold to residents. Like today, there were additional types of food ingredients in the form of instant noodles.

Even though the prices are cheaper, the Acting Governor ensured that the products sold in the cheap basic food program are of superior quality, thus they can help residents meet their basic daily needs.

"Thus far, the commodities most in demand by residents are cooking oil, granulated sugar, and rice. Even, packages and retail are both in demand, as the prices are very cheap and help the community," he concluded.

Residents can buy basic necessities in packages for Rp 100,000 for five kilograms of rice, one kilogram of granulated sugar, two liters of cooking oil and one kilogram of wheat flour. Meanwhile, for retail prices, four kilograms of premium rice are sold for Rp 50,000, two liters of cooking oil for Rp 25,000, one kilogram of granulated sugar for Rp 15,000, and seven packs of instant noodles for Rp 10,000.
